Workshops For Prep - Year Three Students
To encourage children to wonder, question, explore and
think creatively and critically.
Based on the Australian Curriculum, these workshops have been developed exclusively for Set 4 School and are taught by Heidi Smith a fully registered,
qualified and highly experienced teacher with a passion for helping
children reach their own individual, unique potential.
These workshops are especially for children who:
- Learn quickly and often do not need much repetition/practice to learn
- Are excited about and enjoy learning and may even teach themselves
- Have a good memory and like to understand and make sense of their world
- Show advanced development (ie: in one or more areas they are capable of achievement one/two years ahead of their chronological peers)
- Want to learn and work with like-minded peers
- May/may not participate in an extension/enrichment/gifted class at school
- May/may not be formally identified as gifted
With a focus on one curriculum area each term, learning is inquiry based, challenging, engaging, meaningful and takes into account the specific needs of each child.
To maximise each child’s learning there are only six children per workshop.This enables Heidi to get to know and work individually with each child and family. Small classes also allow Heidi to provide extra support and/or extension when necessary for each child and regular feedback, advice and encouragement for all families.
